ZAINAB BINT KHUZAIMAH
one of the wives of Muhammad.
Her first marriage was to to al-Tufail ibn al-Harith
and it ended in divorce.
She later married `Ubaid, Muhammad's cousin,
who was killed at the Battle of Badr.
Muhammad married `Ubaid's widow in 3 A.H.,
and passed away eight (some traditions say two) months later,
at the age of about thirty years or so.
Muhammad prayed over her and she was buried in al-Baqi`.
Even in the Jahiliya,
she was reported to be one who practice much charity to the poor
and was called "Ummu al-Masakin" ("the mother of the poor").
